According to The Times, Gourmet was a money-loser and was outsold at the newsstands by Condé Nast‘s Bon Appétit magazine. With a history for keeping alive unprofitable products, this time it appears Condé Nast is not counting on a recovery for the ailing print industry.
We will miss the beautifully photographed food spreads, the exotic travel, and the “finer things” that gave Gourmet its style and character. So long Gourmet, you will be missed.
